Dr. Kanokwan Chodchoey
Title: Director, Asia and Pacific Seed Association (APSA)
Dr. Kanokwan (May), was appointed as the Deputy Director of Asia and Pacific Seed Association (APSA) in January 2018 to mainly manage on the APSA standing committees and special interest groups on all technical aspects (Intellectual property rights and plant variety protection, phytosanitary measures for seed movement inside and outside regions) as well as to collaborate with the National seed associations in the region. She has been recently promoted to be the Executive Director of APSA since January 2019. As her professional background, she holds a PhD in Biotechnology from Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand. Dr. May began her career managing the QC laboratories (Seed Physiology, genetic purity and Seed health labs) for both vegetable seeds and corn seeds supporting Thailand operations for one year in the multinational seed company. She’s also worked on the quality assurance process covering the entire seed multiplication process for five years serving local seed businesses, seed distribution centers and toller production for domestic markets and regional hubs in Asia. Her latest role was as the Asia Pacific quality lead and where she had been involved in various regional and global projects relating to quality management systems, GSPP, seed health testing for phytosanitary compliance.
